We had those in saudi, they are not true spiders (notice the legs they have more than eight, I believe ten). The snakes there was the thing that made me squirm, horned vipers that chase you and come out from under your tent plat forms. We killed quite a few of those buggers.

I used to catch the camel spider and scorpions and watch the scorpions sting them to death. I hate those things, it is probably the one thing I can say I don't miss about the sand box. I'd rather be getting shot at again or convoying through an IED hot spot than deal with those things again. There related to the scorpion and not a spider but non the less I hate spiders and anything that looks like them.

A big one is only about 4 to 5 inches leg tip to leg tip. Not very big but they can run fast but not as fast as me as I have prov en it more than once.

Why did I even open this thread now I'm in the mood to smash one.
God Bless,
Scott

They only live 1 year..  This ones body is 2 3/16in long.  Temps are dipping into the 30's at night says they need to be 78-95 so it only a matter of time.  I got 4 good videeos of him eating and some cool pics.  All in all it was a good venture and now I can take it home and show everyone what was crawling around.  They do run 10MPH on the ground we used a little teamwork to catch this one.  I would hate to run into the species that gets 8in bodies.  There are 900 species of them 24 live in the US deserts.
