For those at 15+, how many total??? If you don't want to give away your areas, just throw up a number.

Interesting the variety. Would be interesting to see how many more have eastern Wa. areas, as well as western Wa. areas on their list, alpine vs. lowland vs. weapon restricted areas, etc..

PBear takes the prize for the most, no surprize there. I guess I don't have a favorite at this time, but latest preference for blacktail has been 667, 474 and 505. Lot's of good country out there. It's easier to list my least favorite's, probably Taneum and Manastash only because of crowds and very low success rates.

I'm with PolarBear.  I've stuck my foot in just about every legal GMU in the past 25+ years of deer hunting.  Wish I could say I had 25 deer to show for it.  Made a lot of mistakes trompin around so much and now have learned to settle in to 4 distinct GMUs.  Would like to hunt Desert with a rifle and would love to see the Tacoma Watershed unit once.
Introduce someone new to hunting this year.

would love to see the Tacoma Watershed unit once.

A friend of mine drew that the first year they had the draws. He was allowed to take 1 person in with him each day and had to wait at the gate in the morning to be let in. He said there were some pretty increadible animals in there. He was stopped one day in there by a game cop that checked his credentails. After clearing the interigation the gamey asked him if they had seen much that day, my friend told him he hadn't that morning yet and asked if he had any tips. The gamey looked at his watch and said "about this time I would go up the road so far turn here, turn there and park, get out go up the hill to the right, cross the creek and check out the clearing through the trees" Well he did that and sure as $hit thats where he dropped his elk. The gamey and the city really just wanted the hunters in there to get their animals and get out, pretty much as quick as they could.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

I worked back in there a couple times when I was with Public Works, didn't see critters, but a lot great clearcuts and deer sign.

Great point. There's something to be said for really getting to know an area by hunting it year after year after year. I have a hard time getting over the "grass is greener" thought process and have spent lots of time always trying to find better areas when I'd be better off sticking to one area. But I do enjoy seeing new country and to me that's part of what I love about hunting. I've seen lots of country that I never would have otherwise seen. Besides, success isn't always just in how many animals you can kill. But if you really want to kill something, stick to one area and one area only, and get to know it like the back of your hand.

Westside: Puyallup, Mashel, White river, Stormking, S. Rainier, Packwood, Lewis river, West Klickitat, Siouxin, Battle ground, Winston, Mossyrock, Skookumchuck, Olympic, Clearwater, Wynoochee, Satsop, North river, Minot Peak, Fall river, and Lincoln.

Eastside: Grayback, East Klickitat, Kahlotas, Ritzville, Harrington, Beezley(my favorite), Big Bend, Saint Andrews, Moses Coulee, Umtanum, Nile, Little Naches, Teanaway, Entiat, East Okanogan, Sherman(2nd favorite), and Huckleberry.

38 total, and counting! One problem.........the amount of bucks killed does not equal the number of units! :dunno:

That's about where I'm at also. I like to be able to scout out an area before the opener, can't do that effectively for more than a 2-4 areas per season. The last 4 years I've stuck with those same 2-4.

West Side - 653, 654

East Side - 272 (primary), 136, 204, 117, 124, 127, 139, and 142.

Every unit was hunted only because I couldn't get to 272 for lack of time or money, or in the early years a drivers license.
