NE Washington Elk Shed
« on: December 24, 2010, 11:51:36 AM »
I found this shed in 2008 in a god forsaken place in NE Washington. It scores 170" on the nose as is. Squirrels chewed off a few inches of mainbeam and couple inches off the tips of the points, so im guessing 175" when fresh. Double it and add the spread and you get a pretty damn good bull... The pics do not do it justice, it is ridiculously heavy.

I was having trouble posting this, so im trying again...

That is a beast ! Looks great for a shed that sat for several months. I am guessing by your orange you were it was fall season when you found it :dunno:.

Found it during modern elk. It had been on the ground 8 months or so depending on when he dropped.

That antler would keep me interested in that area even if I never saw an elk.  Wonder if he is still alive.

The mass is impressive - awesome find!  I hope you looked hard for the match as those bigger bulls often dump them both very near each other to avoid the lopsided weight.  It looks brushy enough there to have hidden them both pretty well.
