« on: January 19, 2011, 02:24:03 PM »
Any recomendations for using a whip-splash or jerk-string motion dek's for divers? Buddy is hittin the columbia here in a couple days and may take a couple whip-splashes to bring the high birds down...anyone had any luck with these and divers?

I use a H-bar from time to time with a spinner.  If the divers flare from it, pull it.  The last few times the birds have been pinning in on it.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I have never needed movement in a diver spread. Though I tried a whipsplash last year, after the second time it was shot I pulled it.

What is an H-bar?

H-bar allows you to hunt deep water, where you can't use a pole.  The bay, rive etc.  It is in the form of an H, with a tee in the middle with a 15-24" of PVC upright that your spinner can sit in.  The four corners of the H, you attach a decoy.  Then throw out your anchor.  It had worked very well on the scoters and other divers in the last few weeks.
