Fort Lewis Elk
« on: February 02, 2011, 07:26:50 PM »
Has anybody on here seen or heard of elk on the Ft. Lewis reservation near Rainier? There are a couple of Ft. Lewis GMUs out there that are pretty close to Vail. I'm thinking about west side archery for elk this season.

Thanks,  Jim

Wouldn't be surprised but I'd guess they're few and far between.  :dunno:

they are there, it takes awhile to get a pattern on them, and they hop from farm to farm in that area

I've been stationed at Ft Lewis for 9 years and have seen a grand total of 4 elk.

They are there.  I've seen sign in the areas off of Rainier road.  I don't think there are a lot of elk, and it certainly isn't where I would hunt for westside archery.
