The raw hides are retarded to deal with...its not like you can just cut it in half + you usually in a hurry because its getting dark and the there are other bears in the area.....stick bow might be more interesting :chuckle:

I was worried about that.   Like you though, I am shooting a pretty heavy set-up.  Soemthing to say about the right mix of speed and weight.   Light is definatley not the meal ticket.  Excited about the PM.  Will be interested in trying them.

I'm too light on my trad set up.  I have to boost it up or my manufacturer might void the warranty. ;)

I'd be curious how fast my trad bow shoots.   Its faster than any other I have shot.  Nothing like winging sharp sticks!

Years ago I read an article where a guy took a brownie with a 85lb recurve, but he used a fiberglass fish arrow.  Is that like the Grizzly Sticks you mentioned?  Just a big, heavy arrow?

If you put it at a 30" draw and crank it to 70 lbs and used a 350 grain arrow it would probably be closer!?  :dunno:

there's a show on my dvr where the guy and his dad are bowhunting dahl sheep and he chrony'ed his pse and it was running at 372fps. i almost crapped myself when i saw that. he was shooting targets at 110 yards, and killed a ram at 40-50 yards....said his 40+50 pins were so close together it didn't matter which pin he used. i think it was the hunters journal with jason houstley.

You wouldn't have a problem with the speed from an accuracy standpoint.  The equipment that is available today is made for those speeds.  You probably won't get a Zwickey or Bear Razorhead to fly very well at those speeds, most likely, but there are a half-dozen good compact broadheads that will fly like darts.  You might play heck getting good flight from an aluminum arrow, but the carbon revolution came about just for this very reason; and every carbon arrow manufacturer is making arrows that will react to the speed just fine.

The fact of the matter is that the technology has outpaced our ability to grasp the concepts a little, so we tend to doubt that the speed would be controllable.  Some day in the very near future we'll be posting that there's no way to control 550fps arrows, and we'll be wrong again.

I shot an X-force and love it thus the screen name. I believe it still is the fastest bow on the market. Accuracy hasnt been a problem but i also shoot a 300 gran full metal jacket arrow with a 125 gran G5 broadhead. With a total arrow weight around 425grans i dont have much arch at 50 or even sixty yards and all that weight provides some awesome KO power.
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.

Yeah, I hear ya on the draw cycles.
Every real speed bow I shot had a nasty cycle that for a bow used just for hunting, might be tolerable.  I like to shoot everyday, and the harsh cycle is not condusive to comfortable shooting for long periods IMO.
The Slayer X is one screaming bow, but after about 10 shots, the draw became a pain.  Not hard to draw, just uncomfortable.
That is probably one of the biggest reasons I opted for the Bengal, next to pricing.
