Adobe CS3 will not open Raw Phots from my new 7D

I got my new 7D tonight, rushed out and took 3 photos in CR2 Raw. Now my CS3 will not open them up! It says that they are incorrect files!

The photos open up in the Canon Software and Picasa! What the heck?

I checked on Adobe's site and the Raw Converter 4.6 is all that is compatible with CS3. What do I do now?

That would be Adobe for ya!  Only option if you want to keep using PS is to upgrade.  I had to upgrade LR to 3.0 when I got my Nikon 7k.  You could always find a student to get you the student/Teacher addition for a whole lot cheaper than the retail.

I don't know, but I doubt it! I felt like telling the guy at Adobe to "pinch my nipples, pinch my nipples" so that when he asked me why I could say "I love to have my nipples pinched when I get screwed!"   

You could always find a student to get you the student/Teacher addition for a whole lot cheaper than the retail

I could do that and register it in one of my grandkids names, but I feel that I would be lying and stealing if I did that and I just can't drop myself to that level!

So, I'll just do a work around for now. I'll open the photos up with the Canon Software, Convert them into DNG files and send them to my CS3 for editing. It's a major pain in the rear, but at least I can still use CS3 with the files and I don't have to Pay Out Through the nose for the new software!

The weird thing is, Picasa opens up the RAW photos and it's a FREE Program!

  I understand that, the only way I get to do it is because my son, who is taking graphic design, uses CS5 and he also uses my computer.

I'll just do my work around and then save up for the upgrade! I'm kind of tapped out right now after getting the camera and my wife would go through the roof if I spent more $$$$s right away!

Thanks Pacific! I'll make do with what I have for a while and then upgrade later! It won't be long before CS6 comes out I bet, so maybe by the time I have the money saved up I'll get the newest and the greatest!

  Sounds an awful lot like a Microsoft tactic, and word is Adobe and Microshaft will merge soon.

 Hope it all works out.
