Bobcat this is a Mouflan I did last year. Just a smaller version of a bighorn. I think they look cool as a euro, but if I were you I would have the cape tanned and save it just in case. But if not save the cape for a Taxi Im sure youd get the euro mount for free  8)

This state has some screwed up laws. A legal hunter cant even bring out a cape without jumping through hoops with the wdfw. What a joke. all for a simple cape. I guess fish and game doesnt mind waisting a perfectly good cape if all they want is a euro. Shame on them  :chuckle:

I do not understand the meaning behind some of there laws.....oh well.

I am going to make a call to WDFW Office and see what my chances are of getting a permit to buy a Sheep Cape.

I'd think that the permit to hunt and kill them would be inclusive in what you did with the animal, but then again I am not a money hungry institution.  GEEZ

Euro's look good on all sheep. Here is a hybred of a coriscan / 4 horn.

But I don't know a bighorn, I would seriously be talking to a taxi. I am quite sure you could get a decent price on a shoulder mount.

I would say donate them to me, educational purposes! I promise I will put them in my classroom and use them as a teaching tool! I will even pay shipping  ;)

Nothing wrong with doing a euro especially if money was tight. They still look awesome. When I get drawn, I'll be going all out for either a standard pedestal or a wall pedestal with some cool habitat. My wife doesn't dig the whole mount thing either, I just show up at home with them and cross my fingers :chuckle:

I recommend a shoulder mount. That is what I did with mine. (I had 3 points).
People who visit the house and look at the sheep over the fireplace like it better than my moose (I had 5 points).
But if you run in a crowd that has euro mounts.
I saw a lot of euro mounts in Germany. The castles were full of them.
Personally, I think the average person who does not hunt would like the shoulder mount.
If you have to explain the euro mount then it loses something.
But maybe you only have other hunters in your house and 20 years from now there will be only hunters entering your house then thats different. I have had great comments from the pizza delivery guy, the plumber, cable repair lady, etc.
One last question. Do you get excited when you see a shoulder mount or a euro mount?
How about your family? Which excites them more?
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

the reason i would shoulder mount the ram is because it is bigger than the lotto, i have no problem with you euro mounting it or anybody just eating the thing and ditching the horns

a few years ago a guy i know drew the tag and said it was the best meat he has ever had :cue:

I would consider doing a euro if I got one, I think the sheep mounts of californias and rockey mountain bighorns are kinda lame.  I would absolutely LOVE sheep hunting, its my dream, but I think the mounts are kinda boring, a dall sheep or stone I think are much more pretty.  Am I envited on your sheep hunt bobcat?  :)

Now there's a good idea! I could use a powder horn for black powder hunting.   :IBCOOL:
