LEWISTON, Idaho - An Idaho Department of Fish and Game official says aerial gunners have killed at least five wolves in north-central Idaho since Wednesday in an effort to protect elk
herds but that the hunting has been halted due to a lack of success.

Deputy Director Jim Unsworth tells the Lewiston Tribune that agents with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife Services suspended the hunt indefinitely Friday because it was inefficient
and expensive.

Unsworth says some wolf packs are being found by radio collars worn by individuals but the wolves are in thick timber making them difficult to shoot from the air. State officials want to kill up to 60 wolves in the region in the wake of the Obama Administration removing the predators from
Endangered Species Act protections last month.

They need to hire a trapper if they want to take out that many.

Why pay anyone to do it???  Why not sell some freakin' tags, and bring some money INTO the state coffers instead?  Just have the ID game department issue a press release stating some wolves need taken care of, there are x amount of tags for sale on the website.  First come, first served; get 'em while they're hot!

:yeah:
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Use some traps or poisioned bait.  That should work.
Cut em!

Traps, traps, traps  :yeah:

Regardless of what they say, management of species like wolves is very hard or impossible, once they get a hold. That areal shooting is for show, nothing else. Waste of fuel, time and wages...
