Love it when they follow the script

What an absolutely perfect morning. Heard 5 or 6 different gobblers, no wind, no clouds, I'm telling you could not pick a more perfect morning. Went with Glen (Heartsblood) this morning. We got out in the woods a ways and had a couple of different gobblers we could go after. Moved up to the top of a long ridge and I let out a series of yelps and he gobbled back fairly close. No time to set up decoys. I moved off to one side and just slightly back. Once we got situated I called a couple of times and finally got an anwser. He was not fired up by any means but within about 5 minutes came strutting in. I think he gobbled a total of three times after the initial gobble. Glen got to watch him for quite a while and he strutted into 20 yards and Glen put him down with one nice shot. About a 20 pound bird with a 9 inch beard. Congrats Glen!! Thanks for an enjoyable hunt.

Thanks so much Fred for the picture perfect day! I am very happy with our outing and for getting to hang out with you in gorgeous country. I learned lessons I will not soon forget. Thanks again for taking the time to teach a (somewhat) newbie some of the nuances to turkey hunting. Very generous.
I hope I can repay you somehow in a way that can comes close to how much this experience has meant to me.
You're a class act my friend.

Right on guys! I own a bunch of decoys, NOTHING AGAINST THEM, but a bird called in and whacked by call alone is a little bit sweeter to me.
