thats a bluegill of some kind, there are a few different kinds of them.

Looks like a tasty fish to me....     If you filet them, scale them first then filet leaving the skin on.   The skin adds a nice sweet flavor.

Shell crackers are redears, different and bigger than pumpkin seeds.
