White River coyotes
« on: June 14, 2011, 11:27:41 AM »
Is there a decent coyote population for hunters at this time of the year in the White River area? This area seems like a place that has really thick vegetation.

During the drier months, there are more hikers traffic, how do you prevent accidents from happening in thick brushes when you really cannot see thru bushes/vegetation? Would it be safer to do coyote hunting in open areas east of the Cascades, then?

The best way to avoid shooting someone you can't see - don't take the shot if you are not POSITIVE what is beyond the target.

Some guys use a shotgun and 00, since it won't carry as far through the woods....

Yes, hunting east of the mountains is easier, in that the forest isn't as thick, but I'd bet good money the coyote population is heavier on the wet side - you have to work more to get them is all.
Of sorrow and sickness I've known on my way,
But I'm old and I'm nervis,
I'm cast from the Service,
And all I deserve is a shillin' a day.
