Selkirk Moose Tag
« on: June 15, 2011, 08:22:33 PM »
After 11 years i drew a Any Moose tag for the Selkirks.  My family has a cabin in the 49 degrees area and I have taken two Moose hunters up there and had great hunts.  Now it's my turn and i just purchased a map today of the unit and cant stop thinking about bulls  :IBCOOL:  If anyone has a general area to point in let me know and i will have you over for backstrap and beers and some shooting  :chuckle:  Gonna take it with my bow and on video thanks.

Congrats!  If I go for moose again, it will be with a bow and camera as well!  Good luck, wish I had info on that area.

The cca rd up high and upper mill creek was the best for me when I had the tag last year.

I think Petit Lake area would be worth a look. Quite a bit of sign up there during deer season last year. I hope to get up there this summer at some point. If I do i'll let you know what I see. Good luck with your hunt!

Do a search on Selkirk moose on this site and you can see a few hunts.

the south end of the unit is the best and holds the most moose..the area behind bead lk and marshall lake is excellent..one of the largest bulls I have ever seen was on top behind Bead lk..several roads back there and clearcuts...PM if you want more info

i prefer a ballistic tip and load my own, but you can find high quality bullets over the counter just make sure you check your zero, changing rounds can change the point of impact greatly at distances.

Hey newbies: THIS is how you ask for help:
1. He's made other posts before
2. He's helped other people before
3. He's done some work himself
4. He's offered not just spoils but fellowship in consideration for help.

Good luck with the hunt! I wish I could help but I'm out of the loop on this one.
