I have taken 8, 5 with my bow and three with a rifle.  It would have to be a really big one, realy unique color phase for me to take another one.  I just like chasing them with my dogs now and treeing them and taking photos.  I am going to take my 14 old out this fall and hopefully get his first one. :):)

Are you getting some timber company permits with the hounds?

Last year I got #13 & 14, and should have had #15. Missed a few over the years as well.

I got a permit for lions in Stevens/Pend Orielle this winter.  The bears I chase over in the Clearwater region of Idaho.

I've killed 2 bear. 1 eastern Washington in the fall and 1 in eastern Oregon in the spring. The spring bear was alot better eating, no fat.

The one spring bear that I killed had almost 4 inches of fat across his back. I didn't notice a flavor difference. Most of the bears we get are in August and September and they have 1/4 inch to none.

10 for me 2 with the bow, and 8 with the rifle, should be 13 but its hunting not killing.    My wife has taken 2 1 with the bow and 1 rifle.  Been on about another 1/2 dozen other kills with buddys.  I love my bearhunting!

Several blackies off bait stands in AK, a couple spot and stalk and one way too close for comfort..........  In six years (kids/people I took there) shot 22/23 bears off two stations..  The bears were well trained where the stand was.... :chuckle:

Done, unless I find a nice fat blond phased..... or a really cool cinnamon..... or just run into one on accident...... but really good at taking coats off....
