Had a hunter tell me that he watched WDFW drop a pair of them on the south climb of Mt Adams scouting this fall and when he asked what they were doing they said nothing..... not sure how valid this is but if they are behind the back covert dropping to hide the agenda.....

You're not the first to have 2nd, 3rd or 5th hand reports of this activity.   Too bad we don't have something more concrete.

he said they told him that he "see's nothing". i would have been recording the whole act!

They're probably cattle eating wolves from the profanity peak area.....

Wolf standing on main street in the town of Blue Creek, reported to WDFW, helicopter showed up about 45 minutes later and appeared to be herding the wolf back up Iron Mountain. I'm pretty sure this wolf belongs to the same group of wolves that has made the Colville Valley part of their regular range.

Orient School Bus driver and riders saw a wolf in a field on his route. He and the riders watched it for about 10 minutes. This sighting while not right near any houses was close enough to draw concern from the driver. Under a 1/4 mile from the closest.

Wolf seen by several homeowners in the Colville Valley between Addy and Arden. Believed to be one of several wolves that has been being seen in the valley for quite some time now.

Jan 26, 2019
Wolf spotted about 30 yards from a home near the Arden Mill, residents think this wolf is hunting dogs and cats as he has been seen close to several homes.

Jan 26, 2019
Wolf tracks found where cattle are being fed, between Arden and Addy, rancher moved all the full grown cattle into an open field next to the house and moved all the younger half grown calves into a coral next to the house to try to prevent any losses.

Didn't the professional wolf management team show up and herd this wayward animal back to safety?  Or not.

Professional wolf management?  Even if they hazed them off they would be back before the engine cooled if that is where they wish to be.

There's more than one wolf, singles and doubles of varying colors have been spotted for the last couple years, I'm not sure exactly how many there are, at least 3 or more different wolves are seen off and on around the valley. Most of the time they are only watching cattle and horses, which usually group up close to barns when wolves are around. When you haul feed to the usual feed spot and the animals won't go there, you know the wolves are close. I've only heard of cattle being attacked once in the valley so far, but nearly all packs eventually go for the beef, so it's just a matter of time.

There's more than one wolf ?  :yike:  Singles and doubles of varying colors have been rumored to have been spotted for the last couple years. Mostly unverified. We not sure exactly how many there are, at least 3 or more different wolves/coyotes are seen off and on around the valley. Most of the time they are only watching cattle and horses, which usually group up close to barns when wolves/coyotes are around. When you haul feed to the usual feed spot and the animals won't go there, you know the wolves/coyotes are close. I've only heard of cattle being attacked once in the valley so far, but nearly all packs eventually go for the old & sick beef, so it's just a matter of time.

:yeah: About the truth... LOL  :chuckle:

I mentioned one rancher moved all their cattle for safety a few days ago. Yesterday another local resident told us their cattle broke down the fence around their house in the valley during the night and were all in the yard close to the house. They went out in the morning inspecting everything, sure enough wolf tracks all around! It's probably just a matter of time and those choppers that have been chasing the wolves "Colville Valley Pack" back up the mountain will be shooting wolves!

The wolves have found the beef and want it!

Wolf or wolf hybrid north of moses lake. Was out mousing between two hay fields.  Appears to have a little Shepherd in him so assume hybrid but very large and wild animal.  Sorry for the poor picture our lab/shephard mix was trying his best to catch him.

Camping ⛺️ in the tuccannon this weekend we were surprised to see the elk real low along the river. Was fun watching them all day Saturday. Saturday night (11ish) with the asleep and playing cards the dogs became extremely scared. Shaking profusely and not wanting to move. They had been making the rounds about camp. The little lap dog was growling and barking so off we set to get the story of what was happening. Two wolves had made their way behind our camp while three others made it around the backside of camp. The furthest being a boy 100 yards from camp the two I saw were less than 75 yards. The three of us are woodsman and know the difference from a coyote and wolf. They were there because of the elk. And yes can assure you they won’t be leaving the area as long as the food is there.
I am going to relay this message to WDFW as well.
