When did Todd Reichert stop getting the WA Governor's tag?  I know in  2008 he bought the New Mexico Governor's tag and got a monster 440.  I have been in his trophy room and it will make you pee your pants!

Corks? Caping? I'm confused. I wouldn't want you to invite a bunch of guys up there to help me pack out a 241" bull...

I don't know who Mr. Reichert is but maybe he decided to take his money to another state and support elk management there instead of here in Washington where there are a number of hunters who just want to slam a guy for "buying" an elk.   :dunno:

This is not the only state in the west that hunters slam the auction permit guys FYI. Spend a little time over on Monstermuleys.com and you'll see what I mean.

I know.  I was basically being a smart ass.  Everyone has an opinion and feels differently.  I personally think it is okay to oppose the auction tags (I don't) but some of the comments get really personal and attack the guy when they know very little about him, his professional life, time demands, ethics, etc.

X2. It's not the same as spending 10 days in the back country but some of the stuff people say about the guy is pretty sad. I don't care that people are opposing the auction tags but people need to stop ripping into the guy for buying them. It's his money he can spend it however he wants.

Dan Agnew buys the Governer's tag every year.  Each year he has purchased it the price was right around $60-65,000 give or take.  He also is given the name of a "guide" in the Blue's who knows where the 400" bulls are and immediately calls that guy.  This guy charges Dan about $40,000 to take him out 1 time before the season and show him the bull and give him 2 "callers/packers" to help with the hunt.  So, if you want this Gov. tag, you better have a deep pocket book.

He didn't buy it in '09 and he didn't buy it this year.
In 2008 Mr. Agnew bought it for $65k. In 2009 the guy from Oregon bought it for $44k.
I can't find the $$ amount for the 2010 permit or the 2011 one.
True...But, i heard a local guy from here in walla walla bought it in 09.  This year i heard that somebody from Team Mossback bought the tag.  But thats just my  :twocents:

I heard the same thing, but I also heard rumor that a local would be the guide. I'm sure I'll know by the end of august.

It's kind of a bummer that two guys in our camp will most likely have to compete with a group of guys packing a rifle in September. Oh well, don't need 400+ bulls to be an awesome hunt. It'll be fun no matter what.

Charlie, I'll be up there a lot in september get ahold of me. Might need your caping skills :)
