Rock candy mountain
« on: September 08, 2011, 08:38:04 PM »
I just moved into the area and was wondering if anyone on here could please tell me if rock candy mountain is productive for bear and/or deer. I am going to do some scouting over the next few days but if the area isn't productive I would rather spend my scouting time else where.

I only have hunted this year for bear without any success.  I did finally find bear scat in the very end of August.  The problem is berries ripe very late this year.  Most of what I hear is bear in the northern end of Capital forest and deer on the southern end.  The deer and bear are more likely near the creek areas.  Keep in mind it is a real busy area.  I ride my dirt bikes out there a lot and I would try to stay away from those trails.  A lot of horse traffic as well so keep a sharp eye when taking shots.  I have yet to run across any deer or much deer sign.
