Im not picking on anyone but in my opinion this thread aligns perfectly with a discussion had awhile back about how Elk hunting essentially brings out the worst in the majority of hunters. People get more irresponsible, unethical, & rude when Elk season comes around.

Its not people posting up pictures of their harvest with gmu info thats overcrowding your hunting areas its short seasons, limited areas, a growing # of hunters, and a crappy economy thats driving people that may normally travel further but cant afford it or may skip out but have this wild pipedream that they are just gonna drive out on opening day and whack an elk.

Anybody upset over a guy that wants to share pics and a vicinty of where they harvested an animal has insecurity and confidence issues.  i could sit here and tell everyone I'm gonna shoot my deer in Monroe this year and its not gonna effect my hunt. I actually depend on the archery, and muzzleloaders guys to pressure  the deer in my area and push them right where i want them..

I don't hunt elk anymore because of all the wingnuts out hunting them. Too many shots flying overhead from people that shouldn't own a gun.......
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

It is all so complicated, competitive, and dangerous lets just ban hunting then no one will be getting upset over who is doing what?  :dunno:

Me personally, I think when someone shares were they got their elk or deer or whatever it might be, 90% of the time their not really telling you were they actually got it. Just my  :twocents:

I got an elk in the Toutle unit in the timber
I see no issue with that.
I used no flashlight and I also did indeed tag it .

I understand where your coming from on this, but man are the elk all really just standing around in your unit waiting to die?  They sure aren't in my unit where I hunt in Idaho and even if I gave exact coordinates to where I killed my last elk, there won't be another one standing there when others get there.  Elk move around, they will stay in your drainage even if someone is hunting your favorite little hillside.  if someone is choosing their elk spot to go exactly where you say you got your last elk, than they will get there, not find an elk standing there and not hunt it again anyway.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Talked to a guy that was hunting the Wilderness. There was 16 rigs at Ravens Roost and he said that no one, including the guided guys were getting into elk.
I was up there last weekend (not hunting but taking pictures) there were at least twice that many rigs driving up and down the road. At the hours I was seeing people, I can't imagine they ever got far from the rig. That is some pretty rugged country. I was a bit off the beaten path and I saw elk. But sure as heck not from the road.

Thank you for reminding us all why Washington should go to draw only for elk. Most other Western states do it and are better off as a result. I see the entitlement mentality is alive and well in the PNW. Too many people get attached to "THEIR" spot forgetting that wildlife is a public resource on (usually) public land.

There, that should sufficiently  :stirthepot: ...  :chuckle:

Exactly what I was thinking earlier today but I refrained from saying such a thing as it usually doesn't go over very well.   :chuckle:

Ya, well as long as you dont camp in MY spot, park your truck in MY spot, glass MY landing, hike up MY trail then all is good.... :chuckle:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

EW Rifle season is essentially draw only right now.  Finding spikes in November is a needle in a haystack proposition.  :chuckle:
Do people out there really choose where they hunt based on pictures and GMU #s from this site :dunno: Hard to believe...

Pretty obvious to me, they do it because they want to... :hello:
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.
