Do you eat the big dinners early afternoon or late. Seems like dinner for me always falls at the time I want to be hunting so I eat super late and am out of energy to cook by then.

Was at Bellevue for the last four days and we ate at John Howie Steak house.  First off, it was a great steak.  Second they had chanterelles so I had them cook some up in butter then put it on my steak.  Third, they had lobster mashed potatoes.  Now if I had ths at camp I am not sure I would be hunting much.

and you didnt have the tempura bacon

Here it is guys...I don't have pics but you all should try this.  I make it every year and all the guys die for ti.

ELK CAMP BEANS
1/2 lb of gound beef
10 slices of pepper bacon
1/4 cup of chopped onion
***cook  these items and drain***

1 can of kidney beans(drained)
1 can of white lima beans(drained)  - if you can't find these, substitute w/ cannelini beans
1 16 ounce can of B&M baked beans
1/3 cup of brown sugar
1/3 cup of sugar
1/4 cup catsup
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 cup of BBQ sauce
2 TSP "grey poupon" mustard
2 TSP molasses

Combine all ingredients and place in a large covered dish.  Cook at 350 degrees for a hour.  I usually pre cook them and warm them up if we tent camp.  Usually my dad has a oven in trailer.

Try this out and you will be the most popular guy in camp.

I thought I was living the high life with mac&cheese with cheddar wurst cut up in it!

What's the most dangerous thing said in the US Navy? -- A Chief Petty Officer saying "Watch this s$%^!!"

"I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'"
