Rate this cat. 1st one is it mount worthy?
« on: September 30, 2011, 01:18:11 PM »
I have never shot one of these before and dont know if its little, big or average.  My son and i were grouse hunting and ran into this guy with his ears back and butt wiggling so i shot him at 9 yards with 12 gauge.

It's worth mounting, if nothing just because it's your first bob. :twocents:

Any bobcat you can get is mount worthy... hides are not much this time of year.. but they are pretty..

Mount him like you saw him... ears pinned back.. etc...
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Nice dark spots.  I think it looks very nice.  Every bobcat is a trophy and size really is not important unless you are selling the fur.

Absolutely! Did you weigh it? Bobs' are kinda like king salmon.......20lbs being the benchmark for a nice one......30lbs being the benchmark for a trophy!

3nails.  I am 6'4' 300lbs so the cat was bigger than it looked in the pic. We did not weigh him but a few of us guessed 30-40lbs.  He is in my freezer whole so I will weigh him and let you know.

Cats are deceiving weight wise.  I thought the one I shot would go 25 easy.  Weighed in at 19 lbs.

Great looking cat. Not sure its a big one but definitely not a small one, great spots on it, often times they aren't so distinct. Mount it.

Overall, you will never regret mounting it! But down the road you might regret not mounting it!  :dunno:
