i use a few lock on stands, mostly for blacktails, but there are a few river spots where i'll hang a stand on the edge of oaxilis and maple flats for elk.

what u mean ice?

There are several magnums rated for 350lbs...   and those ratings are low end safety minded.

My API grand slam supreme light is rated for 250 lbs and Id feel safe sitting 20 feet up a tree with you on my lap all day long! :o

Let me know when ya wanna test that idea :P

my buddy is over 200lbs and me and him have tested it with me in the seat and him on the front rest bar with both jumping up and down and never fell...

I think some ladder stands are rated for more like 500...  how damn much you weigh HOSS?  :P

"Hoss" is still weighing in over the 300lb mark, but I am working on it.....

Actually I have never even considered a tree stand, but do set up alot of blinds with natural duff from the forest floor... I move around too much to carry a stand, or dedicate all day to one spot... Must have ants in my pants or something....

Ice, my API is rated for 350# is extremely comfortable, steady and easy to use.  It weighs about 30# but is well worth it.  Hey, I am 6' 2" and pushing 3 bills and it holds my big ass 30 feet up quite nicely.

I just bought a treestand a few years ago. Didn't use it the first year I had it, but put it up this last year. Thought it was a pretty good spot to put it where there were a bunch of trails coming together. Sat in it one morning, that was all I could take. I think I will wait to use it this year until I get tired and worn out from hiking all over and since I hunt the eastside I am going to put it over a water source. Definitely takes a lot of patience and good scouting to make it work.

I have a summit climbing stand. I'm taking it up this weekend to practice where I elk hunt. Nine weeks until "game time"! I also use it for the late whitetail season. Love it!
