Sons first Bow

My son will be 8 next year and has been shooting at the archery club with me since the age of 5. He is ready for his first bow and I am really excited to get him to the next level. We went down to the shop and put a Bear aprentice on lay away for his B-day.

Good job William B nothing better than getting them  started early.  The future of are sport is in the youth of today.

Same bow my 10 year old is getting for Christmas.  He has hunted the las 2 years with a Muzzy (and got 2 BT bucks).  He's been asking when he can start bowhunting.  I said when you can you pull back enough weight to make it legal.  He said well, how will I know if I don't have a bow?  Point made!  That Bear looks pretty sweet and I like the fact that he can grow with it.

Good job... love to see the youth out there shooting!  Heck they could grow up to be "Archer of the Year" .... for those of you who don't know it... the last 2 years the "Archer of the Year" for the WSAA, which is the archer who participates in the 6 State shoots, and shoot the best compared to the State records in their respective divisions.... well as I was saying the last 2 years it has been shooters from our CUB divisions who have kicked all of our butts!  Congrats to Hunt4's daughter who is this years "WSAA Archer of the Year"!  She set records if I am not mistaken in every shoot this year... ran away with it!  Last year another young man in the cub division won the award... they are the first 2 young archers to ever win this award.  Pretty cool!

There are a lot of really good bows out there for the young ones to grow with.

Bowtech Soldier - 25-40# or 40-65# 22 -29" draw lengths

Diamond Razors Edge - 29-60#, 19-29#Draw.... both my kids started with this bow. 

Both of these bows are 308 FPS @29" DL

Another bow you might consider is the Alpine Micro in a 30 of 40lb max pull. I got one for my wife because she could not pull my sixtry turned all the way down... She likes shooting it and they are made in ID
