Dead Deer in yard, no apparent injury...

My Father in Law found this guy on their driveway yesterday.  The driveway does lead to a road but there was no noticable wounds or skid marks on the road.  looks like a young healthy animal. 

I do all of my blacktail hunting near there and now I wonder if there is a disease.  Sent the game dept. an email but haven't heard back yet.  Thoughts?

Are you sure he's dead? It seems like the deer are getting smarter. Maybe he is just playing opossum until the season is over.

No blood in the nose, no soft ribs.  I may stay away from that area until I hear back.  From my research CWD is still east of the Columbia.

I say it was hit and injured by a car.

Did you flip the deer over and inspect the other side?

May have been hit some distance from that location and it was internal damage.  That was all the further it made it.

i have no problems eating a killed deer, but a deer that I dont know how it died I dunno... would have to look the meat over pretty hard..
