just a thought, wondering how many members would be willing to meet at a trailhead or converge from different trailheads to meet at a lake or something to hangout, fish and get your stock in shape for the next years season. we could pick a CENTRALLY LOCATED spot from both sides of the crest.

Absolutely!
Also I can post my mule club ride schedule. Anyone is welcome to come ride with us. We usually have 20-30 mule riders and one or two short eared riders thrown in. We don't discriminate, you gotta have a good horse to make a good mule!!
We do dutch oven cooking and they are always alot of fun!!

machias, post your shedule or send it to me if you would. I would like to go and see some new country. I got a new 4 year old this year and he is something else,(two eyed jack bloodline) and I need to get him some trail time. I might pony my saddle horse in case I need to switch

Posting to keep track of any updates. My wife and I would love to go explore some new areas on our "short-ears". It'd be great to go with some more experienced horsemen and women.

Will do, we should have our ride schedule for 2012 done by the first of March. I'll post it here and make sure you get a copy. They are LOTS of fun. One of the best is Memorial Weekend one of the members lives near Springdale, we all go camping on their 160 acres and ride all over it and all the state land behind their place. Literally miles of great trails, great camping, great dutch oven cooking. Lots of great conversation around the campfire under a parachute canopy. It's a blast. Come for one day or all three, plenty of room to park your trailer and lots of space for your horses/mules.
