assisted opening knives?

Anyone have one of those assisted opening knives? Buck, Kershaw? How do you like them? Do they stay assisted opening or do they gum up after awhile?

I have a couple different knives that are assisted opening. Never had them fail. Ones a sog and the other is a kershaw.

I have few.  My best one is made by CRK.  There is a big difference in quality.  You get what you pay for.  You should look at lots of them and choose the best for the intended use.  Have fun fondling all the knives
Just like any other tool you have to take care of them.

had a kersaw Ken Leek or Ken Onion (whatever his name is) design assisted opener for a while, it always flipped open never had any problems kept a pretty solid edge too i lost it while quail hunting

never had an assisted opener by CRKT but have one of their finger flipper designs and that performs flawlessly as well keeps a great edge too

knives are like any other piece of gear or tool you get what you pay for and a little maintenance go a long ways

I have a couple and have never had a problem.  But jstamp almost cut his finger off a few years ago gutting a buck with one.

I believe this came up on here or another site.  And because it's just an assist to opening and doesn't open it up all the way made it legal.

I have a crkt my tighe and have had it in my pocket almost every day for the last 3 years and it still performs flawlessly. No issues. I should be better about keeping it sharp but aside from that it is my favorite knife and I've got a bunch of knives.

Ive got Kershaw Ken Onion assisted knife, really nice and cool grip too. I have had it for years and it is still great. I would also recommend SOG flash II I believe its called, assisted and has a lock for safety.

I have a kershaw and like it but when I wash it, it has trouble opening all the way until it is dry.

I have a bunch but I stick with the CRKT M21-02. Two locks thats cool, keep them clean and they work all the time. I got mine after reading an article on the different brands and this is the one that fit my needs.

Kershaw Random Leek 1660gryst. Great knife, gets abused hard, zero maintenance, (I dropped a couple drops of Rem Oil in the pivot once in 5 yrs) and it has always worked well. Free factory sharpening, just have to pay for shipping.

My brother got me a Kershaw with the Ken Onion design. It's great. Shaved almost all my hair off my arm when I first got it too. And you can send kershaw's back to get re-sharpened. I've used it for hunting and construction for a year about with no issues.

I bought a CRKT Mini My Tighe four or five years ago when they came out, Love it, in my pocket every day lubed the pivot a couple times holds an edge real good.
