Gas up in the early morning you will get more fuel when its cooler , plus no one will see you shaking your hose. or charge your hunting buddies a fuel surcharge !

Yeah, but look out for their pushing gift cards for double fuel discounts. If you buy $50 in cards you get .10 off per gallon up to 30 gallons =$3.00,but you pay about $4.50 in sales tax on it when you buy it,so you are down $1.50,and then when you use the $50 giftcard you pay sales tax again and you are then down $6. State loves it!
And how many make sure they get 30 gallons?

There is no sales tax on the purchase of the gift card itself.

You don't pay sales tax but you do pay a service fee of about 3-4 bucks for most. I know i did when i bought a Visa use anywhere gift card...

I've never been charged sales tax, or a fee when buying a gift card from anywhere.

The Fees are usually deducted from the value of the card.  The Attorney General jumped knee deep in some Department Store **** years back when people started finding out the hard way that the Gift Cards they got months earlier had lost half their value in monthly "maintenance" fees.   There are some kind of limits on it now.

I finally pulled the trigger on the big F-250 which was getting 7-8 mpg and bought a Nissan Frontier.  Also, am not going to join a gym but instead found a big junk pile in the woods behind the house which provides plenty of things to get in a real hard caveman workout, plus walking the hills for a poormans treadmill.   So saving gas to and from the gym plus no membership fees.

Thermals, facemask, Vapor barrier over socks and riding to work even below freezing  as long as the roads are dry.  Adventure  :chuckle:

Little trucks drive better on the dirt roads then big trucks IMO.

Have to add driving in the wind makes a difference on gas prices. I did the math today and I got 18 mpg with my explorer :yike: .  My average for the winter was only 16mpg.

Also, warm-up time in the winter will have an effect on your mpg calculation.  It's sitting their running (using gas), but not going anywhere.

Work from home one day per week!  No commute equals no gas burned.  I have a great boss.
