I think it's awesome we are getting so many guys to join in.  Let's try to have a weekly weigh-in and report, just to keep you motiviated and updated.  I was thinking I was going to be a shoe in to win myself an outstanding knife....now I'm not so sure.  I will tell you all this and you all already know it, no matter who wins the knife, if we all get healthy and lose some weight we'll all be winners for that!!  I will have the spreadsheet posted in a few days with everyone's name, initial weigh in, their goal weight, the amount lost for that week, total loss and their percentage lost.  Good luck everyone and if anyone needs help/encouragement please let us know!!

I agree 100% it's a good motivator between friends and members to keep eachother going. I got on the scale this morning and was very happy. I will post the 1 week weight tomorrow. The first weeks or 2 I love all the extra extra stuff just falls off of me. Then I go down to just several pounds a week. Wish the rest would fall off as well :chuckle:

I guess I better join in as well, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, having my younger brother mistaken for my son, etc.
232 lbs. currently  Last year I drew a branched antler bull permit and went from the 240s to around 210, and got up & down the hills noticeably easier, now it seems as though the stairs are getting longer & gravity is getting stronger, so it's time to do something!
Disappointments are inevitable, misery is optional.

Might be a good idea to post up some ideas or gives some tips on how each person is going about their weight loss.  What are some of you doing that you are having success with?  Specific workouts?  Specific diets?  Might help some of those who don't know where to begin or who haven't had much success in the past.  I try to stick with fruits, veggies, fish, and lean meats like chicken.  Red meat once a week.  For those of use with high cholesterol, getting your heart rate up over 100 bpm for at least 30 consecutive minutes each day is a good start.  I went from numbers similar to Bone's in regards to cholesterol and triglycerides, to normal levels in about 6 months with exercise and taking the meds my doc prescribed.  I'm almost to the point where I won't have to take the meds much longer!  Motivation is a huge factor, and just doing it is another.  It takes 21 days to form a habit.  It will be hard, but staying with it will make you feel much better.  Hopefully this contest will help with the motivation and there is lots of support here as well.  Good luck guys!

Daily--1000 8 count bodybuilders, 1/2 hour of pull-ups, a 10 mile rifle run, the o-course, and some gray-area mashings.

Weighing in at 266 this morning.
My biggest problem with true weight loss is i stay right around 250-260, iwill loose 15-20lbs around the middle in the next few weeks with diet/exercise, then gain it all back in muscle in my upper half once the weather gets better and start working at my property....
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.
