Savage Striker videos
« on: March 10, 2012, 08:40:15 AM »
I went out last weekend and made a few videos of the Savage Strikers in 6mm BR and 338/375 Ruger. I thought some of you may find them interesting.

"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

I dunno whats been going on with the links lately. I'm thinking i would love to have a pistol like that to hunt germany with. It's the ultimate tree stand gun. Super short, quick out the window, and it still hits like a rifle.

That's part of the reason I like them. I used Contenders for years, but I decided I needed more power than I could safely get from the Contender. While these don't carry as well as a Contender in a shoulder holster, they pack a lot more firepower.

I carry the 338/375 in a backpack designed to carry a rifle/bow. Once I get to my spot, I can have it out and ready to go in no time. I carry a revolver in case I jump something close up while walking in. Even shooting off of a stump with the pack or a jacket as a rest, I can get sub MOA groups out to 400yards (as far as I've shot it). From a solid rest I get .5 MOA 3 shot groups.

The 6BR is pretty much a dedicated bench gun. It weighs a little over 13lb It shows a lot of potential. the 105 A-max load I shot in the video was only giving .75" groups. Later I shot some 68gr Bergers which were closer to .5" for 5 shots. I just need to find the right load and I expect it to be a .25" shooter.
