Clarification on Rules
« on: March 27, 2012, 12:13:36 PM »
I need some clarification on a few Hunting Reg rules. I bought my new license, fishing, dear, elk, bear cougar the other day. If I fill out special applications for hunts. And then get drawn for those hunts, then I can buy the tags associated with those hunts and choose my weapon after being drawn or not drawn, is that correct??

Negative, have to choose firearm type at time of purchase.

The way I understand it is that you have to decide when you buy your deer and elk tags, they gave me my cougar and bear because those are any weapon. I have my Bear, Cougar, Elk and Deer License and can go back and get my tags for Deer and Elk later, its only a 1dollar dealer fee to have them print them. Is this correct??

You will need to have your deer and elk tags before applying for any special deer or elk permits, which means you need them by the middle of May. (only if you want to apply for special hunts)

If you don't apply for any special permit hunts, then you can wait and get your tag the day before you go hunting if you want.

Thats incorrect. You can simply buy your license/tags now, then pick-up your tags and decide which firearm type and east/west elk later in the year. However you must make your decision before purchasing special permit applications.

There have been several times where I bought my license and tags in March but didn't decide the firearm and elk west/east decision till May.
