Republic area help
« on: May 31, 2012, 08:42:53 PM »
I've been looking for a spot to hunt this coming season in the Republic are off highway 20.  I will be out there for a wedding my wife is in. This totally botches my early westsider season. Ive never hunted the eastside but am thrilled for the chance. In addition, my oldest son 13yrs old will earn his right of passage as a hunter on his first deer trip.  I see the 204(east Okanogan) and the 101(sherman) will be my best choices. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of Deer hunting right outside of town, just head out to the forest land.
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

Whities and or Mulies, for the early modern season Oct.13th -21st.  Not looking for a huge trophy, just a nice buck for my sons first deer hunt.

Check with the Forest service and find areas that have been logged 4-7 years ago and they should even be able to give you maps to those spots that may hold deer.

well instead of a deer blind just sit in your truck, on main street.  Most deer live in city limits
I Love Mule Deer.

There is a 100,000 acres of timber land in Ferry County. It's called Forest Capitol now, was Boise Cascade. You have Vaagens too, which is a timber company out of Colville. Plus tons of National Forest Service too !

Any direction you go from town will put you in National Forest.  Deer are everywhere out there.  Get out and do some exploring and you'll do just fine.  If your hunting modern just watch out for all the other A holes that come over from the west side.

We hunt up around there. During archery its not too bad as we hunt on private land, but any forest service road will get you in the deer.

During modern all we do is chase out trespassing peeps trying to shoot the bucks on our land. We live 8hrs from our cabin but its worth the drive to keep the hunters out. It amazes me too see how many people try and trespass and claim they didnt know it was posted, when signs are every where witgh a locked gate too lol.

2 years ago people snuck in and got 2 big 5x5's muleys, our neighbor got their license plate but nothing came from that.

Unsure what else we can do when the nearest police statiion is 45 mins away.
