Spring Bear Down!
« on: June 01, 2012, 05:52:58 PM »
Not today!!!   :)  On Wednesday evening.  After 6 weeks of hitting it hard, I finally closed the deal on the last day I had to hunt on Wednesday evening.  I only missed one day off during the season and hunted a lot of evenings after work.  Got to see a lot of great country I haven't been in for years and had a great time.  Not a giant, but a very pretty bear and well-earned.  This is my first spring bear and I will definitely put in for this hunt every year.  It was definitely a learning experience and was totally different than hunting bears in the late summer and fall.  Now it's time to get caught up around the house and wait for this year's draw results!  Great way to start the year!

Nice bear, what unit did you get him in, and was it a spot and stalk or did you still hunt?

I second Rasbo's comment.  Beautiful head.  I love it when the bear gets bigger and the ears start getting more laterally positioned on the head.  My avatar shows my bear but I have to admit I am envious. Your bear will make an impressive head mount.  Is this your first bear?

ps thanks for sharing.  Great success stories always get me pumped for bear hunting.
