What have you forgotten on your trips?

We were trying to cut weight for my fly in Brown bear hunt on Kodiak and left one of our bags of food behind.3 days into a ten 10 hunt we noticed we only had food for a couple more days but luckily my buddy was guiding just up the bay and he was able to send out a message back to town and I had food flown in on the next plane.

Got to deer/elk camp for the next 2 1/2 weeks a couple days early.... Got all set up and gathered wood.... While getting all my gear ready night before opener I couldn't find any ammo for my rifle.....    After hours of cursing and searching I finally located 2 rounds.... One was in my sleepiong bag....     One under the seat of my truck..... The deer only needed one....

I have forgot lots of small stuff over the years. Nothing ever to crazy, did leave my release at the truck one time. I had only made it about 1/2 mile.

Years ago my hunting partner brought a new guy to camp, who wanted to try bowhunting. I personally saw him "forget" to knock an arrow before he drew and shot at a whitetail buck.

I fogot the wifes cow permit one year! Drove back home in the middle of the night just to find out I had put it in the back of my wallet so I we wouldn't forget it

I've field dressed too many animals with my broadheads.  Now I have knives stashed everywhere.  And yet I still forget one on occation.  Thinking about making a velcro sheath so I always have one attached to the bow.

wow  never had to do that and hopefully never will! sounds dangerous. i have always had at least 2or 3 knives when hunting anything. my dad always laughs at me when i take my pack out and i have 4 different knives, but it is better to be safe than sorry...

I forgot my GPS once...not that big of a deal compared to forgetting my sleeping bag.  Laid next to the fire and a bottle of whiskey.  It was a scout trip so it was just for one night.  Not too bad.  I did however manage to wake up with huge blisters on one of my forearms (somehow got burnt laying so close to the fire).  I won't forget my sleeping bag again.  Great lessons to learn.

Knife.
Went in solo for a few days to look for woodland caribou in the Kenai mountains. Easy tag to get, very few notch the tag. Spent a day and half of traversing ridgelines and realizing I was a bit foolish, thinking  one man team could succeed without dying of exhaustion.  So,  returned to the valley floor and spent the night in a nice warm cabin. Woke up early next AM and spotted a black bear on the hillside grazing. Three hours later I was above and down wind of him. While mentally planning the final stalk to get within shooting range, it occurred to me that the hurried exit from camp caused my only blade to be left behind.
Turned out OK, took the opportunity to do a "dry run" or photo shoot stalk!
The breeze was pretty steady and the bear moved into some tall grass. Finally got close enough to see the blackflies swarming around his snout. Wasn't a particularly big (old/ wise/experienced) bear, likely that is what allowed me to get so close, pretty darn exciting.

didn't forget it but "discovered" while in the ID mountains that I had no jack & a flat tire, my son & I walked 6 miles to camp to get our other vehicle & a jack.
