So stoked that I started shooting broadheads tonight  :chuckle: changed to shuttle t's this year and they fly awesome, shot out to 50 and they were side by side with my field tips. Will check them out at 60-80 tomorrow ....

nice! have to check out those heads. I've been running and basically dealing with tons of stuff around the house that leaves me sweating and sore, so it must be good. Going on a scout trip end of August (our anniversary, I got a cool wife). Will let you know how that goes. I heard it is a better hunt if there is some winter weather (not too much). I am digging the summer, but I will be fine with an early cold....

Scouters, Don't be discouraged when you go and don't see a bunch of moose in the summer.  They are there, but likely laying low in a cool creek bottom.  When you start getting that sinking feeling that there are no moose anywhere... remember that in October, things will be WAY different.  In October, the rut will overcome their urge to lay low, even on sweltering days.

Get some movies and learn how to grunt.  Forget the cow calls like they do in Canada and Alaska.  Everyone kept telling me that it wouldn't be a matter of IF you get a good bull.  It is a matter of WHICH bull you are willing to hold out for.  That was good advice!

Now get back out there and run another 2 miles!
Nothing witty here.... move along.

2 miles down... many to go.. Even cutting back on the Moose Drool  :'( Thanks for the encouraging words. I kinda expected that August will be a lay of the land type scout trip. I'll grab the fly pole for some stream fishing while there. I ahve gone down Sand Canyon road a couple years back and camped on a lookout west of I think it was called Kalispell peak or something like that. So any areas to hone in on would be appreciated. PM me.

As to camping, think I would get in touch with 49 north and see about camping tin the parking lot. Haven't been there in a few years but they might even have hookups. That way you can be on top and have an EZ carry back to camp up hill all the way. The last time there the roads were all open so a down hill or side hill pack could be done. HAve good hunts you lucky turds.

I am in an Amazon Architecture class right now.  One of my attendee's of the class is from Spokane.  He was showing me pictures of moose after moose in his back yard.  He lives in a development that backs up to the mount Spokane.  Nothing big but lots of moose.

Mine is secured under lock and key  :IBCOOL:
And to add to my luck this year, my wife and I scored on Antelope tags in a east region of Montana. There were 5 or so given out, and 2 are in our grubby little hands......
