Passed up at 20 yard shot at a 36" bull this morning. I was trying to get a shot a big bull with a cow and that dude walked up between us. Saw a 40" bull in a cut I could have dumped with the 300, but he was very spindly looking....Nicked my bowstring (didnt cut all the way)  :bash:  so had to run back to the cabin and get my backup bow. New strings on the way! Headed back out! Later!

Saw a dandy bull getting hauled out this morning near Usk on the 49 side. Only got a quick look but it was nice and hauled out whole.....must have been pretty close to the truck considering it was 8:30 am. Good luck to you. There are some nice ones out there.

Well, in for the night.. sent dad one direction and I went another, same basic area....I hadn't gone to far down a different road and decided just to sit for a bit and take it all in.  I heard one snort/cough whatever they do not long after sitting down maybe 50 yards off the road...I went on with my business and then walked over and just sat watching a timbered canyon. After about 30 minutes I see him walking up the other side and lay down...Huh, Im going to grunt, I do he stands back up, I grunt again and here he comes on a rope....down the draw and up my side...He works his way right to me, at 9 yards, I let him know he's dead...He looks heart broke and slowly walks away. I decide to go back to the road and walk to a new spot. I just crest the bank back onto the road and look up the road about 60 yards and see big tines sticking up over the bank. I check him out and he looks good, he turns his head and  then notice that he's all broke up.... :bash:...he comes up on the road and walks around the corner...I sneak up and peek around the corner and there he is at 20 yards...About 42" wide, a single brow and a double brow....I let him walk.....tough decision, if he wasnt so beat up I would have let the air outa him...He was nice bull. anyway headed back to the truck and that was about it...Kinda have that feeling..."did I make the right choice: ? Time will tell I guess.....Adios for the night!
