Westport Camping
« on: June 21, 2012, 10:03:28 AM »
What are the options for camping in Westport.  I'm planning to head out there in a couple weeks for 3 or 4 days.  Can you camp in the parking lot?  Any other cheap options near by?

We booked a spot at the Westport Inn. Looks nice on the web page. We will be there in a few weeks. We booked our spot a few months ago. We are really looking forward to the trip. My brother and his 12yo son are comming out from Pennsylvania for a week. A Fishing trip out of Westport is a must! Here is the link to where we are camping

If you got a camper or motor home, you can park for free around town and stay the night. I did it last year for a fishing trip, or pick one of the camp ground, resorts or motels.

My brother has a house over there that he rents out.  It is one block from the docks.  Not sure if it would be available and it is reasonable.  If interested PM me and i'll get you his  number.

There are 2 pretty nice state parks, one just south of town and the other at Grayland.  We've stayed at both.  I think they are around $20-$25 a night.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Where is that?  The big parking lot one block over from the marina?

That and I have also parked for the night at the boat launch. (I have a camper on my truck)

We stay at Twin Harbors State park but this time of year you need a reservation, and you can do that on line (we just did ours for 10 day down there). Go to the State Parks web site and have a look.. If you stay at the state parks you do not need a Discover Pass to go to the beach

You can dry camp at the Hungry Whale for $5 a night. Theres a camp ground by the islander but they don't allow tent camping. There is also an RV park across the road from the Hungry Whale not sure is they have tent spots or not. I've been told you're not supposed to camp in the boat launch parking lot, although plenty of people do it.
