My friend reluctantly is letting me post this photo of what he calls a steelhead of a life time. I'm not much of a fishermen but he claims it could be one of the biggest caught this year . Can't say where , of course .

He is reluctant because it isn't clipped and you aren't suppose to take wild ones out of the water even for photos.

It is legal to not only take a native fish out of water, but to tag one native fish a year on selected rivers after Feb 15.
Page 17 of the WDFW 2012-2013 reg book:
"WILD STEELHEAD RETENTION RULES: one wild STEELHEAD per license year may be retained
from one of the following rivers: Bogachiel River, Calawah River, Clearwater River, Dickey River, Hoh
River, Quillayute River, Quinault River, or Sol Duc River, as listed in the special rules."

With that said, Fish of a lifetime for sure!  :IBCOOL: If I landed that hawg, I would tag it (if legal to do so). Not one for tagging nates, but I would make an exception for a fish like that!

I've heard that just for taking pics like this you get served search warrants and they go through your entire house and computers.
