I like to spread out mileage,  I have 12 vehicles 7 of them have over 100k miles.  They quit adding up miles very fast but staying up on maintenance gets to be a nightmare.

This sounds just like a buddy of mine.

i have 250,000 miles on my toyota tundra and wouldn't think about sell it if someone offered me what I paid for it, even after putting 50,000 miles on it.

With the price of vehicles now days, why would anyone get rid of a rig till it was unreliable.  It was like a 10,000 pound weight being lifted off my chest when I finally paid off my 06 dodge....almost $500 a month back in my pocket.  I will drive that truck till the frame rots away and the darn thing falls in half.

My last one had 170,000 when a gal ran a light.
I drive them till they die.
I think I am now driving the last truck I will ever own.

Heck a Toyota is barely broken in at 100K.  I put 280K on my first one before i sold for 4K and 300K on my second before I traded in and got 4K for it.  Have 108K on my 3rd Toyota, needless to say Im a big fan!

I'm at 195k on my '02 Silverado. My wife's Jeep just broke 100k. We haven't made a car payment in 7 years. I'll be excited for a new rig a year or so from now but not looking forward to a payment. Trying to make a payment a month to myself right now to prepare for it.

Last truck hit 200,000

Bought a cheap commuter that's getting me 33 mpg for the past year.

Getting ready to bite the bullet and get a new truck, not looking forward to the payment.

I've got 5 vehicles, and only 1 has less than 180k  :chuckle:

I get antsy and just get to the point where I want a new one.  I like new toys.  I buy a new car every three years.  Just like new rigs.

Looking forward to downsizing to a midsize compact diesel truck in a year or two but will keep my old rig for a hauler till it dies.

I just realised the other day that I've put 100k on my 2002 Silverado since I purchased it 7 years go. I'm hoping for another 100k at least before replacing it. It's been an amazing truck, only thing I've done is a new starter and fuel pump aside from general service. Looking at even used trucks for the price vs. mileage on them scares me.

I look at the history of the car.  If the rig has had problems and it is registered on Edmonds or other places I use that data points as to when to sell.   I take care of my rigs so I typically sell around or over 200K.

Just bought a new car and for $3500 I put a 1,000,000 mile factory bumper to bumper warranty on it. I figured we will drive this one for ever. Hope it works out but this is a first for me. By the way it's a Dodge.
