Repairing rain gear

So Ive been suffering through 2-5 day soaks this year with leaking rain pants, and boots.  Never had any pair of gortex boots last over a week of use ... but wont go there.  After roughing it through the rain storm this weekend I decided I should probably try to repair my rain pants.  I have used a whole roll of Tenacious tape and they are still leaking quite a bit.  Im guessing the issue is multiple torn holes within 6-8 inches of the knee.  Anyone have any solutions that worked for them?  Im considering plastering some Seam Grip or something on that whole section and calling it good.

New pants 

I had a pair I tried and never could fix and just dealt with it till I got a new pair

Aquaseal if you can find the holes.
Hold an air pocket in the leak area and hold them under water and look for the bubbles.

This is what everyone uses in Alaska on dry suits and rain gear commercial fishing/diving. It is bad ass. Just don't get it on anything else won't come off

You can buy big tubes of it too but it's expensive

Not sure what kind of rain gear you are using, but the issue may really be that you are sweating and it's not actually getting wet inside from rain. If you are hiking, and feel wet, this is most likely the case, especially since temps are still rather high.

I have been putting them in water and checking for leaks, but they are small holes and it spreads in the fabric on the backside so its been tough pinpointing some of the smaller holes.  Will have to try the air pocket method. 

I do have some other brand marine adhesive ... might have to consider it.

Its definitely holes in the pants.

I have used shoe goo for temporary fixes with good results. Also making sure you have your boots oiled and dried every night (or as often as you can) REALLY helps.

J have worked outside year round foe over ten years and with a little care and planning you can keep dry. May be time for a new pair of rain pants soon though.

Hoping to push new pants out till next year.  My "waterproof" boots arent full leather, just gortex liner.  Definitely looking to go that route if funds allow next year.
