I would touch bases with that ranch at the bottom of the valley and see if they are willing to help. I can't think of the name of the ranch.

Been here for a couple days and have yet to see a deer.  Lots of snow and even fresh snow today with no tracks of anything around......

I'd give my left nut to be able to carry my dad to the truck at 90, and take him for a ride looking for a buck.

Harvest or not.

He was also a Korea era Marine....

You’re in the right place to look for pointers.

I’m surprised to hear that. Wish I had some sage advice but I’ve never spent time up there this late. Good luck and hope you guys are able to get it figured out

Hope he gets one, who knows how many years he has been putting in, no reason his points should go to waste, if he can still get out and hunt then good for him! Enjoy!

I wish him the best of luck. After completing my quality permit with friends in tow I know they all enjoyed seeing so many deer and hunting a new area. Filling the tag was icing on the cake but the hunt itself would have been a success even if I didn’t fill the tag.

I feel like your dad’s will be too. He’s earned it.

Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Good luck
I hope I’m still there at 90

I’d go to the Liberty cafe
Look for the mail lady
Talk to her
She’s a killer and has local knowledge
She showed me pics some animals taken in that unit that were mashers
Also drop in to Owens meats and ask

Liberty cafe closed down and sold, the mail lady retired and Owens meats stopped doing wildgame a few years ago,the only person I know that consistently kills big deer in teanaway isn't on this page  :dunno:
