Looks like it might be a better choice than the 6.5 PRC for a compact short action hunting rifle.
Somebody is going to have to come out with some new high BC bullets in .277 if this cartridge is going to compete with the cartridges that are already established in the current market. I wouldn't be surprised if this one flops.

Eh, a quick run through the calc shows the 165 ablr load almost exactly on par with the 147 eld m at 1000 for energy and almost an moa more on drop. Similar performing bullets so all I'm seeing is more recoil on the 165 for diminishing down range performance? I guess a little more energy on the short to mid range perhaps. I am happy to see the .270 market moving past the 10 twist standard though, its about dang time.
I guess the question is if you are a big bullet elk guy, would you pick this?
I am curious about the 6.8 ARC, read a couple interesting articles. Enough to peak the curiosity!
