Thanks and it was.  Wish I would have done it sooner with her but life happens. Happy as all get out to have it happen.  I don't  smile much for a camera but just couldn't help it.

Well first one done this afternoon.  Air Force reserve Jesse on his first ever bird.  2 more first time turkey hunters tomorrow and Jesse will still be trying to fill that second tag.

Number 2 and tagged out.  8.5" beard, 1"spurs and weighed 19.2lbs.  Jumped him with a small flock of hens and another tom walking back to the with the other 2 hunters and my wife.  Turned him back to us with a couple yelps.  Done deal.

First called in turkey. Called in his gal and she brought along a Jake. Open tag left and 3 mature Tom's in there gobbling, going back in the am to try for em and maybe make it a double for the weekend. Needless to say I'm hooked:)

Got one opening morning and took me over a month to fill that second tag. Saw more folks in the woods than I think I've ever seen. Not super convenient but really good to see more folks getting into it! Note: The two birds in the one photo are a double with my buddy and I from the opener.

My 1st 2021 Rio Tom taken in the Blue Mountains.  And my 2nd 2021 Tom was a Merriams out of Unit 121.  Both birds came in hot.  Had the Merriams at 8 yards in a stare down.  Had to wait for him to turn so I could raise my fun to shoot him at between 10 or 12 yards as he was leaving.  Came straight at my blind instead of the decoys.  Pretty exciting to have one that close.  Got the Rio right after fly down (right over my head) as he came back to my decoys and following a hen.
