North Cascades - Chelan Weyerhaeuser permits
« on: June 22, 2021, 08:12:49 PM »
Looks like due to a pending land sale they won’t be selling them. Can anyone confirm?

Yeah it’s true. They sent out emails about it a month or so ago saying Hampton is buying it. Current permits are still good until the 23rd of July but no new permits from Weyerhaeuser this year in there. Supposedly Hampton will be contacting permit holders about future recreation in the area but I haven’t heard anything

Thanks for the heads up. This definitely throws a wrench in the gears for my blacktail plans. hopefully Hampton will offer permits.

Maybe they’ll let hunters in for free like it should be.🤔

I’m not opposed to that either. I’ve not yet purchased one of their permits but I was planning on it this year for the drive in access on one of the properties near my home. It would have allowed me to easily load up my kids and take them with.

Well did a little digging around and this is what I found on Hamptons website.  Sounds to me that access is granted expect for high fire dangers.  Correct me if I missed something please.

When Longview Fiber owned the lands before Wherehowser it was always high fire danger every year on August 1, imagine that.🤬

One can only hope, but they did install some big gates to keep the trash dumpers out.

Which pieces of the permit property did they purchase as there was a fair amount under that permit? The property up north out of Granite Falls I take it.

It appears they bought all of it. Including the ones along Highway 2.
