Minimum post count needed to view classifieds

I have purchased some things on here. if they had a low post count couldn't meet in person, and a new member id never make a deal. Face to face cash only... unless I can get a 3rd member verification... that said I was was dry shaved by a shyster once.

I joined in 2009 and it seems like I remember you had to have 50 posts to view the classifieds. Anyone else remember this?

I occasionally purchase or sell some things, but not often.
Or do my responses to a certain amount of posts enable me to remain current?

You just have to have more than 3 total posts on the forum. You should be good to go.

Wondering why I couldn’t see the classifieds. Now I know. Been around for a while, just don’t post much. Guess I’ll have to put my two cents into things a little more often. 😁

I do think the move makes sense as a way of limiting spammers, but I wonder if I am the only one who has previously not posted, but still bought things from the classifieds.

I am a Washington native, away for decades, and now back. I joined the forum last summer but just never felt the need to post anything.

My guess is there are a few like you. I also think there a bunch of guests who view the classifieds, see something they want and then join the forum so they can reply or pm about making a purchase. Unfortunately we may lose some new members because of that but cutting down on members getting scammed is worth it IMO.

For now it takes three posts on the main forum to post an ad in the classifieds also. Until you have three posts you can’t see or post in the classified section.

i would go a step further and allow reports to site mgrs of no shows on purchases to black list as appropriate.
