I wish he would sign an executive order telling the justice department to join in with the citizens on the lawsuits challenging state bans that target the 2nd amendment.

Sent the below message to the president. Hopefully it will get to someone who can help.

“Hello, is there anything the federal government can do to help with the lawsuits being paid by citizens in Washington to fight unconstitutional gun restrictions that were passed by the democrats?  There is a minority in Washington of law abiding gun owners who have a history of owning firearms for hunting and protecting their property that are being targeted by democrats as a scapegoat for the criminal’s behavior that they choose not to prosecute and punish. This has led to the republicans fleeing the state and has become a sanctuary for some of the most liberals to settle and target people who live in rural areas of the state by passing legislation that makes the behavior of conservatives illegal and at the same time they are legalizing drug use putting the citizens of the state at risk.

The legal fight to protect our constitutional gun rights along with the legal fight to maintain our ability to hunt and fish is tremendous. The second amendment is a necessity for freedom and if laws need to be passed to limit a constitutional right it should only happen at the federal level and should be equally enforced to all citizens of our nation. The state of Washington has also gone so far as to citizens of Washington cannot even buy certain firearms in other states that they would choose to keep at a property they own in another state. These laws passed in Washington are affecting businesses transactions that are taking place in other states which is another violation of the constitution that we need help fighting.

Please help us in Washington as we are out numbered and out financed by the liberal special interests that want for us gun owners and hunters to be abolished.

Thank you”

I read this order as they will focus on actions by Biden and democrats at the federal level. My hope is that they will go a step further and challenge the states with their infringements upon our rights.

Also failing to meet cutoff were several bills related to reducing gun

These include:

HB 1902/SB 6004 would have prohibited a dealer from transferring a firearm to a purchaser or transferee unless the person had a valid permit to purchase firearms.
HB 2054 would have prohibited firearms dealers from delivering more than one firearm to a purchaser or transferee within any 30-day period, subject to various exceptions.
SB 5963 would have required individuals who own a firearm to keep and maintain a residential dwelling insurance policy that covers losses or damages resulting from the accidental or unintentional discharge of the firearm.

Thank you for reaching out to Representative Walsh with your concerns about HB 1504. We can confirm that HB 1504 did not have a public hearing that was previously scheduled. This bill is not expected to move forward in the 2025 session, but we will watch this bill in the next session.

Rep Walsh is committed to protecting your Second Amendment rights, and the rights specifically outlined in the Washington State Constitution for law-abiding citizens.
One bill that is moving forward is HB 1163, enhancing requirements relating to the purchase, transfer, and possession of firearms.

There is a public hearing in the House Committee on Appropriations, TODAY, February 24, and this bill is scheduled to be voted on later this week.

We encourage you to make your voice heard on this bill.

Got this from one of my district legislators

Midnight voting  :bash:

Good afternoon,

Thank you for reaching out to me about HB 1163, which would require a permit to purchase firearms. The bill had a vote tonight on the House floor, but the debate on the bill didn’t start until the middle of the night. It went overnight until the House adjourned for the night and reconvened this afternoon to continue debate. The House voted to pass this bill by a vote of 58-38. I voted against it because I believe it violates our constitutional rights.

I have serious concerns about requiring a permit to purchase firearms. Such regulatory burdens that enact strict requirements to obtain a permit create a significant barrier to access your fundamental rights endowed by the Constitution. In addition, I strongly oppose the taxes (in the form of fees to apply for a permit) that amount to a poll tax such as those that prevented citizens from accessing their fundamental right to vote until 1965.  Other constitutional rights do not require a permit to access, such as the press, where journalists are not required to obtain a permit to report news to the public. I am alarmed by the ongoing attacks on our constitutional rights by this state, that show a disregard for your freedoms.

As a fierce defender of our US and Washington state constitutions, it is imperative that you have the right to defend yourself, your family, and any business you own, especially when the state handcuffs our police officers, aims to reduce penalties for violent criminals, and ranks dead last in police officers per capita compared to the rest of the country.

We know that HB 1163 will do nothing to prevent violent criminals who do not purchase guns through legal means from getting their hands on these weapons in any amount, since the black market does not require permits to obtain a firearm. Instead, it punishes law-abiding citizens and prevents them from being able to legally obtain a gun to protect themselves and their family. The bill restricts their ability to access their fundamental constitutional right to bear arms under the Second Amendment of our national constitution, which reads: “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed,” and Article 1 Section 24 of the Washington state constitution, which explicitly states, “The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired.” I took an oath to uphold our Constitutions, and I take that oath seriously.  Our state is one of the most restrictive gun rights states in the country, and it keeps getting more difficult every year to gain access to your fundamental right to bear arms.

Please know that there are ways to reduce criminals from using guns to harm others without infringing on your constitutional rights. One way to accomplish this is through a bill that I cosponsored, House Bill 1085, which extends penalties for threatening violence at schools and extracurricular activities.

Bills like HB 1163 are a reminder that we must defend our fundamental rights – or else they become privileges that are subject to be taken away as soon as someone abuses those rights.

Very frustrating!  Sad to say but I've given up sending messages to my representatives.  I've come to the conclusion that I have no representation in this state.  I live on the east side of the state in a conservative area yet am completely controlled by a couple of counties.  WA is totally captured by one side, and I don't think there is any way to turn it around.

I think it is important to remember that there are folks on both sides of state that don’t like whats going on. Voting red grew by 8% last cycle. I am hopeful the Trump election is a sign that people are starting to move more Red. At 74 moving isn’t an option for me.

As painful as it might be I have taken a stance not to vote for anything with a Democrats name on it. Schools, police, levy’s nothing. And when ever possible turning younger voters Red. Not that one is better than the other. But lesser of evils as far as 2A is concerned.

There are far more red counties in this state than there are blue. These laws they are passing rely on county governance to ensure they are followed. The county commissioners in all the red counties need to stand up for their constituents and push back hard against the continued assault on our second amendment rights.
