First salmon of the year!
« on: July 05, 2012, 07:44:58 PM »
Had to cancel my trip to Westport this weekend, too much to do to get ready and too much work to do.  Had to be on the water this afternoon, so we decided to fish for a bit.  Got this 11 lb king on a watermelon coho killer behind a chartreuse dodger.  Unfortunately, shortly thereafter we lost both sets of gear in a tangle as the current picked up.   >:(

Oh well, I'll try to get out again tomorrow after the tide change.  Gotta get up early and get some work done first though.

Thanks, good thing I took her out of the gene pool, she's one of those weird splotchy pink and white-meated ones.

And yeah, Run, he is finally starting to grow, though it is still slowly.
Nice Lodi... This is going to be a good salmon season it looks like ...

I hope so, the freezer is pretty low on the other red meat....   :chuckle:

I actually meant the "other" red meat as red-meated fish, still have lots of venison....  Need to make a trip to Sylvana meats next week.

Nice fish, I was out in your neighborhood yesterday. My GF and FC went out in the Islands but we didn't catch a thing. Will probably be back out there in a couple of weeks.
