110gr accubondsat 3550fps are impresive. I've only shot one deer so far with this 257wby/110gr accubond, a high shoulder shot at 250 yards= DRT.

100 grain TSX or TTSX bullets out of a 257 Weatherby have worked very well for me in Wyoming.  Heavier bullets may "resist" wind better but they are slower, so wind has more time to move them.  I doubt you would enough difference in wind drift to justify a 140 grain if you can even find such a thing.  I would rate accuracy much higher than bullet weight.

I understand that, I realize it really wouldn't matter a lot especially since I'm not going to shoot past 500 yards or so. Just something I was thinking about, maybe just for "cool factor" to myself. A long skinny bullet just looks cool to me, I'm no master shooter or reloader. I'll just pick which bullet my rifle likes best, I've got lots of loading and shooting to do. Thanks for all the input, I'm a huge fan of this round too, I've shot it a decent amount and have taken several antelope and 2 deer with it, just never messed around with reloading for it, I didn't reload back when I bought the gun and have since started using my 300 weatherby instead, but wanted to pull this gun out of the cabinet for this hunt.

Got a new .257Whby last year and shot two bucks with 110 gr. accubonds at 3400 fps, one at 300 yards and one at 100 yards and they both sucked.  I have a new load shooting really nice now I can't wait to try this year... 115 gr. TSX going 3200 fps.  With zero at 200 yards, still only 3 feet of drop at 500 yards.

Hoping the solid bullet will perform better with those higher velocities, have heard lots of good things about them... have never shot a Barnes before, so...?

120 is as heavy as I've seen in 25 caliber, not that there aren't any, but I haven't seen them.

Not sure why you'd want to go heavier than 120?
:yeah: plenty of bullet for a whitetail, just puch through the lungs, no need to try and bust bone on the near side

I would seriously consider the 110 Accubond, accurate, higher BC than that of the Partition. Bonded core, terminal performance of the Partition with the BC of the Ballistic Tip. At .257 Roy speeds, should be one fast and flat killing machine. The Accubond is going to put the Partition on the back porch.

Love my 257 wby mag.  I have been shooting 110 accubonds.  Never needed a second shot, and they dont go far.  I have shot the 87 grain as well for coyotes and just for shooting, very very fast and fun.  Sam i am really curious to see how you do with those 115's please report back or email me.  I hate to switch, especially at the price of wby charges haha.

I'm curious how far are you wanting to be able to shoot your game?

We have shot two moose, a couple bear, and several deer with 257 loaded with 100 gr TSX and 100 gr TTSX.

One of the moose was shot at over 300 yards and bullets exited after passing through both shoulders.

Ya know, Weatherby doesn't load their ammo NOT to kill animals. Buy their ammo and be on your way !! Ol' Roy didn't say the 257 was his favorite caliber for a reason.

After pushing a 100gr tsx through a couple elk and a few deer and having none stop the bullet and none take so much as a step......I will just hold another inch into the wind.

I love shooting long sleek heavy bullets, but keep it real.....the Roy was meant to run hard and fast and sting like lightning.

Exactly, the long sleek heavy bullet it was I was looking for, like I said just for cool factor to myself. Most other calibers you can find these kind of bullets so I wanted to try and play around with some.

My favorite bullet in most my rifles has been the barnes in TSX or TTSX, I guess I don't know why I'd change now. I'm still gonna load up a few different bullets and see which shoots best. Looking at 100gr Barnes TTSX, 110 gr Hornady Interbond, and 110gr Nosler Accubond. Thanks for all the input guys, I'll try to post the results up of what I find.
