there is a lot of places over there on the west side where you live that you could hunt. Maybe somebody in you congregation will let you on there land. Good luck!
Do you guys do any pre-season scouting? Are you hunting modern?

Part of the reason why we travel to your side of the state is because we want a reason to get away from our responsibilities and live "wild at heart". If we stayed in Western, WA we'd be more likely to stay at our homes, get distracted by emails and "to do lists" at home. Whereas, when we visit Eastern, WA we simply relax, enjoy the beauty of that region, and admire the opportunity to hunt Mulies and Whitetails. I've got no problem hunting Blackies over here... but growing up in Maine and hunting Whitetails with my father... yeah, I'd rather drive 7 hours to Eastern, WA for a week of just remembering those days.
Good Luck with looking for permission. A lot of people on here are protective of their spots. I moved here from Rumford Maine and still and looking for someone to give me private access..
I would check out the windmill option honestly unless you want to drive over a couple weekends after the harvest, and to some calling. There are some great folks over their, but they get allot of people from the westside that don't respect their private property allong with the Seattle politics westies aren't all that popular. You may think about hunting the public land this year write down some numbers, and offer to do some stuff around their property in exchange for access. These are small communities once you get to know a few folks you would be suprised how many doors open up, just keep in mind they have countless people bothering them once season starts so that is not a good time to be knocking on doors.
Work on their property, or just spend lots of time up there. We got permission just being there and chatting with landowners when we ran across them. Start up a conversation and see where I goes.
Maybe it has worked for you in the past, but IMO I would loose the im a christian slogan. Not that thats a bad thing, but ALOT of people use that to screw people. I myself got screwed by a guy who told me that not long ago on a $6,000 purchase. From that point on when I hear "im a christian man" I WILL run.

There definitely are people out there that label themselves "Christians," but in today's world it can be used very loosely. Unfortunately, I can't speak for other people and how they define their faith, but I'm not afraid to put mine out there on the forum and speak up for ethical and reliable hunting practices. Total bummer that someone sold you something for $6,000 and it turned out a crappy deal. I get that because it's happened to me before and I've had to say to myself - what was I thinking? That's where I think that people who say "I'm a Christian" ought to walk the walk - not just talk the talk. If this guy didn't disclose the problems you've had with this $6,000 purchase, he ought to pay you back and give you an extra $1000 for his dishonesty. If it was an honest mistake on his part, then he still ought to reach out to you and offer to give it back. I apologize on behalf of those of us who really do want to live as followers of Jesus Christ, as our focus should always come down to 2 things: - Love God and Love Others - If you truly love God, then you will love others (and that means with integrity, honesty, patience, kindness, etc...)
A fair amount of feel free to hunt signs out that way and lots of Corps of Engineers land
