Are they blind or do you have your camera really well concealed?  You would think he would see the salt block and then look around for a cam?  Do you think he shot the cow after this sequence of pics?
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

What was the elk you found? Spike? Cow? How far from where the salt block was found? I didn't see a pic of a spike run through, so he must have shot one of those cows? Is there a cow tag for that area right now?

A lot of questions I know.....just trying to get an even bigger picture of the jerks actions......

I bet he threw the salt into the brush.....just to be a D*#K!

Sometimes, a guy has to take the law into his own hands...  MIght have a one on one with him and see what his deal is.  Your out a salt block, but it sounds as though there might be a bigger issue, the one with him doing something to an older gentleman, would have me on a war path..

GL in finding him...

The area is open to cow and spike bull.  He would have shot it before the sequence of pics.  I have a stand 20 yards from this block and my guess is he was sitting in it (no big deal except if it is they camp I think it is they know where we hunt and we know where they hunt.  We stay out of their area and they do not reciprocate that kind guesture) based off the flagging.  This block is purely to get animals to slow down on a major trail leading to my stand.  The elk that was found was a big cow that was shot in the left shoulder...it was approx 150 yards down hill in a drainage with a stream.

Jrebel, all that other stuff was me.  Sorry.  I used the maps you sent me to find your spot.  I was just trying to improve the land a bit for the good of everybody.  Sorry if I made you mad.

what happened to his bow between pic #6 and #7 ?  :dunno:  did he steal the salt block or throw it into the brush?

I guess I don't know why someone would throw it in the brush???  I darn sure did not go look for it, I was in no mood for a scavenger hunt.  Doesn't make sense either way...He is a scumbag in my books.

true either way, its still stealing... :bash: :bash:   i just don't get why someone would do that?  lol

Anyone that sees a salt block these days, a pile of feeder corn or any other type of bait for animals in the woods, and doesn't realize they are on someones trail camera is not the brightest hunter out there.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a reply from him on this site, its highly unlikely he visits hunting forums judging by the images. :twocents:

Disgusted with the waste of good Elk meat as well!!  I would think you would have a ton of pictures of him going back and fourth trying to find the downed elk.

Big country and no reason hosing someone Else's hunt.    A couple times I've bumped into other hunters on Public lands and of those a couple exhibited a not so nice attitude....  almost like 'what are you doing in my forest', instead of where can we each go so as to not impact one another and maybe improve each others hunt.  Dorking with your salt lick is nothing compared to harassing another hunter.  (Especially a 70 year old one)

Just to 100% clear...I am not sure this is the same guy that harrassed another member of our campt 2  years ago.  By the discription it could very well be.  The guy that was harrassed was not in camp to see the pics so he could not confirm.  this is me connecting the dots.

Here are the facts.....

1.  I am 34 years old and it takes me 25-30 minutes to get to my stand.
2.  He is a lot older and his partner was there w/o a bow in less than 10 minutes.
3.  The only way this could have happened is if they are the ones driving behind a closed gate that is under my stand.  It is approx 1 mile from the gate and approx 150 yards above the closed road.
4.  The guys who drive behind the gate are the guys who harassed the 71 yo guy in our camp.
5.  They are also the guys who have knowingly cut and placed stands on top of ours.

It is national forrest and they have every right to be there...but they have zero ethics or morels and have proven it.  I really want to talk to these guys and my partner will not let me walk into their camp to do so.

i would make copies of the photos and leave them where the other camp can find them. That might shake things up.  :yike:

leave one of the dead elk too. That might spook them right out of the area.

Better move your camera first.

Hell of an idea there.  That's what I would do.  Creative thinking at it's best

Look at photo of cow and calf. The cow seems to be favoring her left shoulder a little bit. Could just be the way she's standing but I don't know.

Yea, make copies of the pics and post them in the hunting area and on gates!  That will teach him a lesson... I think that he sat in your tree stand really sucks, now thats crossing the line even on public land.   :boxin:
