Disgusted with the waste of good Elk meat as well!!  I would think you would have a ton of pictures of him going back and fourth trying to find the downed elk.

Big country and no reason hosing someone Else's hunt.    A couple times I've bumped into other hunters on Public lands and of those a couple exhibited a not so nice attitude....  almost like 'what are you doing in my forest', instead of where can we each go so as to not impact one another and maybe improve each others hunt.  Dorking with your salt lick is nothing compared to harassing another hunter.  (Especially a 70 year old one)

Why would you expect a ton of photos of him looking for his elk? The elk is clearly not in front of the camera. Usually if you are looking for an animal you keep moving the direction the animal is moving.

I'm not defending the guy but I don't think he should be accused of wasting game based of this alone.
what in the wild wild world of sports???

Maybe he had a sodium defeciancy and ate the lick  :dunno:
A couple years ago I'm pretty sure me and my partner got on a few pics. We stopped for a few and I noticed  he was eating an apple. I ask him "hey where did you get that apple?", he said "it was laying right here". I said "um I don't see any apple trees"
We looked around and noticed a tree stand not too far away, not sure if there was a cam or not, but we left.

I'm also wondering if that cow don't have an arrow in her too.

got her ears laid back and looks like she could be hurt in the pic, and she didn't stop at all to check/sniff at the salt block - looks to have ignored it.

Well, I for one am not going to just keep coming back to this thread to see what the newest drama is around here.

I have way way way more better things to do than that.

Yeah check out the first pic with the cow and calf. Which side was the rotten cow hit on? If its the left side than that is the elk that was shot. If your stand was to the left of the pic frame than he was hunting your stand and shot and wounded an elk out of your stand.

Why else would he call in his buddy? Pointing at the ground? Most convincingly why would the cow be holding her left leg so high off the ground? Elk dont walk or even run like that she's definitely stuck.

:yeah: that leg is held up tight, left hand side.. what a POS shoot a elk out of your stand, then steal the salt lick from your stand, then not recovering the elk? This deserves a kick in the junk alone, add in all the other stuff  :bash:

Looks as if he is tracking a blood trail. I wonder if he tossed the block just to keep other elk from comming in and trampling on the trail. :dunno:

My stand (ground blind, not a tree stand) is to the left of that camera less than 20 yards away.  I have no doubt that elk was stuck and the elk that was found was shot in the left shoulder.  It was found due north of these pics approx 150 yards down hill in the creek drainage.

Why mess with the salt though...other than just being a dick??
