real tough hunt!
« on: September 22, 2012, 01:13:25 AM »
After five days of blank deer hinting, headed home to chase the elk around the house. This guy popped under the apple tree at dusk.twenty five yard shot, he expired in 35. Backed the quad up to him after dressing and towed him 300 yds to the house. Hung, skinned and cut and wrapped 24 hours later. Really tough hunt. Oh, did I mention I was in my stand for about 45 minutes before he showed? :chuckle:

Gotta love it!  Like they say, luck is when opportunity and preparation collide (or something like that).

Apple trees can be a blessing if you have property.  I know a lot of deer an elk have been harvested under them.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Giggles...I prefer,"he smoked him like a cheap cigar!" :)

Might not see much of old Mike, with his age and the lockout....
